After winning the toss and electing to bat, the Grampians side was in trouble after losing two early wickets for just 20 runs.
However the partnership between Youth Club’s Nic Baird and GCA A Grade leading run scorer Jarrod Blandford steadied the innings for the batting side.
Baird notched a crucial 80 before losing his wicket to conclude a 105-run third wicket partnership.
Grampians skipper Blandford eventually fell for 44 but the middle and bottom order batsmen continued to build the total.
Matt Heffer (45), Adam Haslett (30) and Peter Latham (17*) provided crucial runs as the score reached 242 by the end of the allocated 50 overs.
Heffer got the innings off to a perfect start for Grampians, knocking opener Lachlan Edwards over for just three.
Swan Hill built a strong second wicket partnership which was ended by Brad Slorach.
Lachlan Oddie ended any chance of a Swan Hill revival, claiming 5-31 in 12 overs.
Swan Hill was bowled out for 148, handing Grampians a 94 run win in the first game of the week.
