Mr Kennedy, a personal trainer, will team up with champion swimmer Michael Klim to take on the challenge.
Both men will be doing the challenge at trainer Dieter Roylance’s Meister Athlete Gym in Prahran, Melbourne, from 6pm tonight to to 6pm tomorrow.
People can help the pair push the sled throughout that time.
Mr Kennedy said the main aim of the challenge was to raise as much money, and awareness, for men’s anxiety and depression as possible.
“It is something I am really passionate about, I want to continue raising money and awareness for it,” he said.
“I have seen so many people and know of so many people going through things day-to-day.
“Whether it be anxiety or actually depression, they are sometimes scared or too shy to speak up about it.”
Mr Kennedy said he’s been working with a close friend in nutrition and fitness for 18 months who had spoke up about his battle with depression in 2017.
“He was given a bit of support and now he is trying to raise the topic and trying to help other people speak about it.
“Males in particular suffer a lot from depression and anxiety and are too afraid to talk about it or don’t really recognise what it is.”
Mr Kennedy said he came up with the idea when he was in Los Angeles.
“I wanted to do something for a while to raise some money for charity and then I came up with this idea of the sled challenge,” he siad.
“I reached out to a couple of my mates while I was planning it and Michael Klim was keen to jump on board, from there it has worked itself out.”
Klim is one of Mr Kennedy’s clients. Meister Athlete Gym owner Dietre Roylance is Australian actor Hugh Jackman’s trainer.
“We just told him the concept of what we were doing and what we were doing it for and he was keen to jump on board,” Mr Kennedy said.
Mr Kennedy said himself and Klim hadn’t done much preparation specific for sledge pushing.
“We aren’t doing a great deal different to what we normally do anyway,” he said.
“There isn’t much you can do to prepare for 24 hours of sled pushing, it is always going to be hard.”
The bar has been set for the sled push challenge and Mr Kennedy said he wanted to raise $10,000.
He said people could visit 24 sled push challenge on the My Cause website to donate money.
