Navarre to face Carisbrook twice in 2018

Navarre will play reigning Maryborough Castlemaine Football League premiers Carisbrook twice next season.

The Grasshoppers were handed a relatively friendly fixture when the 2018 draw was released on Tuesday.

Along with the Redbacks, Navarre will play two games against Maldon and Maryborough Rovers.

Navarre will begin its season with a twilight grand final rematch against Carisbrook.  The Redbacks got the better of Navarre in the 2017 MCDFL grand final, winning by 20 points.

The MCDFNL will compete against the West Gippsland Football Netball League in their 2018 interleague clash.

Junior football and netball interleague will return next year, with details yet to be confirmed.

The Netball Association Championships will be played on Sunday May 27 and June 17.

The Grasshoppers will look to refresh for 2018 after both senior football and netball teams failed to claim premierships for the first time since 2012 this season.

Pre-season training will get into full swing in the new year, giving all players a chance to come into the season fresh and ready to go.

The Grasshoppers are still on the hunt for netball coaches, with applications closing on Saturday, December 9.
