After a solid first day on Saturday the two sides backed up at 11am on Sunday morning.
An already sore Rup-Minyip side briefly looked like it would be a bowler down early in the day when Hudson pulled up sharply mid-way through his third over.
Blue Panthers captain Travis Hair said the way his opening bowler pulled up in his approach made it look as though he had pulled a groin.
“It must have just been a bit of cramp though because the big feller bowled as well as I’ve seen him bowl for quite some time,” he said.
“He chugged in for about an hour and a half and still didn’t want to come off.”
The seamer ripped through the top and middle order as Laharum struggled to build partnerships.
Damien Bunworth played a largely lone hand with the bat before his 86-run vigil ended when he had to leave at the lunch break.
“We knew beforehand that Damien had to leave at lunch and that might have turned the game,” he said.
“Laharum only needed about 70 more runs when he left and we still had plenty of overs to bowl.
“He gave us a couple of difficult chances but did not really look like getting out.”
Dan Griffiths, 16, and John Doyle, 15, were the only other Laharum batsmen to make it to double figures before the side was bowled out for 166 in the 53rd over.
“I think we were really lucky to get away with the win in the end,” Hair said.
“A few of our guys are going to enjoy having the weekend off because we are reasonably sore. I’m hopeful we’ll have Matt Downer and Leigh Funcke back for our next game.”
