Stawell police caught a man, 47, with .6 grams of methamphetamine after intercepting his Dual-Cab Ute on the Western Highway at 12.30am on Friday.
The Woodend man was taken to Stawell Police Station and was released on bail.
He is set to appear in court in September.
Sergeant Bryan Anderson warned police will be actively detecting people in possession of illicit drugs.
“Drug use is just as dangerous as driving with alcohol- It affects your judgement in a bad way,” he said.
