Sergeant Bill Alford said he hoped the community could help identify the four people captured on camera on Wednesday night last week.
Police would not reveal details about the premises or what was stolen.
Latest police figures showed burglaries at Stawell had increased by 48 per cent.
There were 25 reported burglaries at Stawell in 2014, 39 in 2015 and 58 last year.
Figures were also up in Halls Gap, Pomonal, Navarre and St Arnaud – Halls Gap, Pomonal and St Arnaud recorded a 54 per cent increase in burglary-related offences, while burglaries in Navarre had grown by 300 per cent.
Sergeant Alford said people with information could phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
