The girls were selected to compete in the state competition as part of the Midland Zone team - the Midland Meteors.
The competition required them to ride in three disciplines - dressage, show jumping and cross country.
In perfect weather, both girls achieved excellent dressage scores of 74.17 per cent.
In the show jumping phase, Morgan Lord and her Arabian pony, Havenleigh Park Thor, jumped a clear round while Morgan Lane and her Australian Stock Horse, Penstewart Isabella Amihra, dropped an unfortunate rail and received four penalty points.
By Sunday, weather conditions had deteriorated considerably for the cross country section, however, both girls went clear and under time.
Team manager Jo Lane, of Horsham Pony Club, said she was extremely proud.
“Both girls have such positive attitudes. They rode with precision all weekend and showed great skill. With their teammates, they collectively outperformed 15 other teams from across the state to be named winners of the 2017 state event. You can’t get better than that.”
Anna Sudholz competed in grade three with her team Midland Majors. Anna did Horsham Pony Club proud, holding her own against some very strong competition. The Majors all had great rides, finishing eighth.
