The game opened up for the home side after a tight first quarter before the game eventually ended 16.12 (108) to 9.7 (61).
Warriors coach Tom Eckel said he felt his side was in control on the scoreboard throughout the game.
“A wins a win,” he said. “It was a pretty scrappy game.
“There was a couple of points where we gave them a bit too much room but we were still on top”
A nine-point quarter-time lead extended to 41-points at the main break.
Eckel was pleased with the way his side started to tackle harder as the game went on.
“We need to stay closer to our best for longer,” he said.
Sean Mentell was best on ground and Jesse Barber was reliable down back for Stawell. Travis Graham added another six goals to his tally for the season, as did Tom MaGee for Dimboola.
