Mr Tangey moved into Eventide Homes in 2013.
Chief executive Sue Blakey said Mr Tangey always had an infectious grin, was a very likeable man and felt right at home the instant he arrived.
“Tom’s wife Dot and family, whom would visit every day, also became part of the Eventide family,” she said.
Mr Tangey died in October last year. Mrs Tangey approached Eventide Homes to donate the garden ornament in his memory for the Warne House sensory garden.
”We would like to thank Dot and the family for this kind gesture, a great way to remember Tom, which will provide ongoing enjoyment for residents of Warne House,” Ms Blakey said.
More than 100 people attended the official opening of Eventide Homes' $3.4 million wing Warne House in 2013.
It was named after Roger Warne to honour the 28 years he had volunteered as a Board of Governance member.
