Woodford pleaded guilty of child homicide in Melbourne's Supreme Court on Friday.
His sentence has a non-parole period of six years and six months.
The court heard Woodford became frustrated after tripping over Bella, the daughter of his then partner.
He stepped on her stomach and lifted his foot off the ground, placing all 100 kilograms of his weight on her 14-kilogram frame.
Bella died from severe internal injuries at Horsham’s Wimmera Base Hospital the next day, September 17, 2015.
Seven months later Woodford confessed to police.
Speaking outside court, Bella's father Jonathan Lawrence told reporters the day had been "disgusting".
"Today's sentencing will never be enough to put my family at peace of what has happened," he read from a prepared statement on Friday.
"My daughter never made it to his minimum term... which makes me sick.
"We will never see her face again, never hear her voice again and never be able to tell her we love her again."
