One of the three teams experienced a few technical hiccups on race day, but all the teams enjoyed taking part in the challenging race.
Holy Trinity entered some teams in the human-powered section for pedal vehicles and others in the energy efficient section for pedal vehicles assisted with an electric motor.
Teacher and team co-ordinator Chris Surridge said the Grand Prix went very well.
“We were very happy with how the students acquitted themselves,” he said.
“They worked well as a team and had a really great time.”
The Vortex team of years seven, eight and nine students came second in their category and seventh overall.
Mr Surridge said the Trinity Thunder pedal team, made up of years five and six students, went really well as they came 11th out of 29 competitors.
“Tsunami team, the energy efficient vehicle that was pedaled with assistance with electric engine had a story to tell,” he said.
“The motor would not get started and they had to to pedal the whole way.
“You never know what is going to happen on the race day, but the students showed they could deal with difficult circumstances.”
