A big win went a long way on Saturday as Navarre reminded everyone what they are capable of.
Navarre 14.17(101) defeated Talbot 4.3(27).
Grasshoppers produced a slow first quarter, but were able to rectify their mistakes in the final three quarters.
After trailing by 11 points at quarter time, Navarre bounced back to lead by 17 points at the main break.
Navarre’s forward line was open and free flowing, which allowed Cody Driscoll plenty of space.
Driscoll piled on five majors to be the leading goal kicker on the ground.
Older brother Ash Driscoll also took advantage of the lace out delivery finishing with three goals.
Talbot kicked three goal in the first quarter, but as Navarre lifted its intensity, Talbot fell away.
Talbot kicked just one goal in the final three quarters.
Daniel Parkin played a solid game in the forward line finishing with two goals.
Jayden Fowkes, Ash Driscoll, Lachie Slorach, Brent Flood and Daniel Reading were other players named in the best.
It was a good day for the senior leadership with Parkin, Flood, Fowkes and Driscoll all big contributors.
Cody Driscoll was leading the goal kicking prior to the last round, but a nine goal haul from Royal Park’s Joshua Brown saw the honour go begging.
Navarre will have a tough first finals match when they meet Natte Bealiba.
Last time they met Navarre won by a slim margin, but finals is a different game.
Navarre finished their season with just two blemishes to its record. They lost to Royal Park and Carisbrook.
