Chisholm was one of 240 young male and female athletes selected to attend the carnival in September.
Chisholm is 11 years old and has been a standout in her age group for many years in Stawell. She began playing basketball in Ballarat last year and is progressing rapidly through the ranks.
“I am looking forward to playing at a high level with a new group of players,” Chisholm said.
She trains with the under-14 Stawell Wildcats and also does one-on-one training with Ballarat Rush coach David Flint.
Chisholm said she was inspired by recently retired star Lauren Jackson. She will be doing her best to watch Australia compete at the Olympics and hopes one day to play in the green and gold.
Chisholm is still recovering from a bad break in her finger, which sidelined her for three months.
She said nothing would be possible without the support of her mum Janelle.
