EDENHOPE-RAISED Laura McDonald could follow in the footsteps of her two Melbourne Football Club brothers Oscar and Tom McDonald.
McDonald is set to join the inaugural AFL women’s league after attending a training camp on Saturday.
The 21-year-old was one of 60 elite athletes with backgrounds in sports other than footy to attend the AFL’s latest talent search for its rookie list.
McDonald said that she didn’t tell her brother Oscar about the training camp, but instead asked him to go for a kick.
“He rolled his ankle on the weekend so unfortunately couldn’t,” she said.
The McDonalds could make history in their own right with a brother and sister combination playing at the highest level of football in Australia for the first time.
