The race has attracted some of the season best young trotters keen to become the next Maori Legend.
The club has attracted the sponsorship of a free service to the 2013 winner I’m Stately. His career record stands at 20 starts for 13 wins and the Australian two year old trotter of the year in 2013/14.
The club thanked John Campbell from Loddon Valley Stud for the free service.
The race has attracted two of the form horses this season with the Brett Lilley trained Eyrish Mist that land from New Zealand. He has already won his two Australian starts. The other big chance is Illawong Shimmer trained by Ross Sugars who has won three races.
New chairman of Harness Racing Victoria Mr Dale Monteith will be in attendance for the day, will officially open the newly renovated bistro and also help draw the winner of the major sponsor of this year’s Cup. Entry is free on Wednesday.
