Exhibition manager Colin Konig said the 18th annual event would be bigger and better than previous years.
Mr Konig said they are expecting more than 2000 people to visit the State Emergency Service Drill Hall on the weekend to view the 26 exhibitions.
“We have slightly more entries than last year,” he said.
“People can expect a very high quality exhibition.
“They can spend a good four hours or more looking.”
Mr Konig said those involved in model railways pride themselves on their detail and passion.
“I fell in love with trains as a child and that stuck for the rest of my life,” he said.
Mr Konig said entry is $10 for adults and free to children.
