Wimmera Regional Library Corporation marketing manager Leanda Elliott said it was the 16th year Horsham Library had participated in the event.
“It started 16 years ago and we’ve participated in every single one,” she said.
“We had 18 children and their parents at the library on Wednesday.
“National Simultaneous Storytime is designed to encourage kids to reads and parents to read to their children.
“It’s always a children’s book written by an Australian author and illustrated by an Australian illustrator.”
This year, children across the country enjoyed the story I Got This Hat written by Jol and Kate Temple and illustrated by Jon Foye.
Following the reading, children enjoyed a craft activity where they designed their own hats.
“The children made straps, which they attached to multiple different hats,” Ms Elliott said.
