Horsham’s St Brigid’s College, Horsham’s Ss Michael and John’s Primary School and Murtoa’s Our Lady Help of Christians Primary School attended the event.
The mass was to celebrate the start of Catholic Education Week and students from prep to year 12 attended.
The focus of this year’s mass was mercy in line with Pope Francis’ Jubilee of Mercy.
Ss Michael and John’s Primary School principal Andrea Cox said it was great the three schools could all come together.
“It was great to see everyone come together and talk with each other,” she said.
“After mass, 11 students from the St Brigid’s College cooked a barbecue lunch.
“The prep buddies from year before got together and talked between themselves.”
About 500 students attended the event.
St Brigid’s College teacher and leadership team member Les Butler said the focus on mercy would tie in with their year 11 Catholic Education Week retreat in Adelaide.
“The students will be going to Adelaide on a social justice retreat,” he said.
“The group will get the chance to talk to asylum seekers and see homelessness.”
The theme of the retreat is ‘it’s not about me’.
Mr Butler said the retreat would help students realise that life was not all about themselves and it was about helping other people as well.
St Brigid’s College also had a virtual open day on May 14.
