The Kees finished the first quarter with a narrow lead, but blew the Baggies out of the water with a nine-goal second quarter.
Kalkee coach Steve Schultz saw a marked improvement in his side’s intensity from previous weeks.
“Our effort and our work rate was probably the biggest improvement from the past few weeks,” he said.
“Our start was a bit sluggish, but we were kicking into a pretty heavy breeze in the first quarter.
“Our next three quarters we turned it on and played some good footy.”
Schultz led the way in the goal kicking charts for the Kees, slotting eight majors in an impressive forward display.
He was well deputised by Adam Carter, who booted five goals of his own.
Hugo Papst was awarded best on ground for a clinical display in the middle, while fellow young guns Jasper Gun and Daniel Schache also impressed.
Swifts coach Scott Carey said his side performed well in the opening term, but fell victim to the experience of Kalkee.
“Our first quarter was good, we really had our minds on the game,” he said.
“In the end, Kalkee showed their experience and were able to stay in the game longer.”
Nick Pickering, Damon Folkes and Matt Healy were the best performers for Carey’s men.
Swifts ended the game with a lengthy injury list; Ryan Folkes, Nick Raek and Sam Raek being just a few of the casualties.
