Mark and Jenny Carmody married when they were 20 and 17 respectively.
The couple will celebrate the milestone with a quiet dinner with friends before they travel to Europe for a well deserved holiday.
Mr and Mrs Carmody own a business together called the Halls Gap Valley Lodges.
They host an average of 35 weddings a year, with everyone saying they hope to have a marriage as successful as theirs, Mrs Carmody said.
“The key to a long healthy marriage is perseverance and patience,” she said.
The couple have four children and two grandchildren.
“Back then, everyone went to Adelaide for their honeymoon and so did we,” she said.
We went to Glenelg.
“I remember we had to come back halfway through for Mark to play football.
“But of course we came back and finished the rest of our honeymoon.”
The couple got married at what is now the Horsham Sports and Community Club with 120 guests.
Mrs Carmody said it was a red wedding.
