The session, to be held on Tuesday, February 23 at the St Arnaud Town Hall, will explain how the program has assisted residents to lower their energy costs as well as their impact on the environment.
Cr Merrilee Reid said the session would also provide an opportunity for people to have input on future policies and programs.
“The LIEEP program has been running since 2014 through our Sustainable Living Project Officer and Home and Community Care team,” Cr Reid said.
“In that time, we’ve heard many examples of the success of the project in assisting households to reduce energy costs, and to improve their health and wellbeing.”
Cr Reid said council was looking forward to advising the community of the outcomes.
“We’re looking forward to sharing some of those success stories at the information session and getting the community’s feedback on what direction we should take with this work in the future,” she said.
“We’d also like to know what messages our residents think we should be taking back to government to inform the direction of future policies and programs.”
The session will run from 9.30am until 12.30pm with lunch to follow. A bus will leave the Stawell Town Hall at 8.30am and travel to St Arnaud via Navarre. Those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP to Kevin Spence at kevin.spence@ngshire.vic.gov.au or by phoning 5358 8700 or 0408 353 966.
