The performance, which gets underway at 2pm, is sure to enchant audiences.
Junior dancers, aged 4-13 will be performing the story of ‘Snugglepot and Cuddlepie’, based on the original book series written by May Gibbs.
The story follows Snugglepot and Cuddlepie, a pair of gumnut babies who have run away from home and come across the evil Mrs Snake and the Banksia Men.
The young dancers are led by senior dancers in the character roles of Snugglepot danced by Taia Hayter, Cuddlepie danced by Atalia Chaplin, Ragged Blossom danced by Amber Fry, Mrs Kookaburra danced by Gemma Senior, and Mrs Snake danced by Saige Omernik.
As usual these young dancers will not disappoint to enchant and endear themselves to all audience members.
After a short intermission, senior dancers aged 13 and over will perform dances of varying styles including classical ballet, contemporary, modern, lyrical and jazz numbers to modern musical selections.
The 37 dancers in the program have been rehearsing hard under the guidance of teacher Chelsea Vincent, assisted in the junior groups by assistant teachers Saige Omernik, Amber Fry, Taia Hayter, Atalia Chaplin and Gemma Senior.
President Tracey Erkelens said all involved with the Stawell Performing Arts Company were looking forward to the show.
“With the program only starting up a few months ago it has been a lot of work to get the concert on the stage,” Mrs Erkelens said.
“Chelsea and all of the dancers have worked very hard along with our fantastic volunteers and we hope that the Stawell community comes out to enjoy the show.”
Tea, coffee and afternoon tea will be provided during intermission with cans of drinks available for purchase.
All proceeds from ticket sales as well as the sale of raffle tickets for a hamper prize drawn at the concert will go towards the supporting the ongoing work of Stawell Performing Arts Company who provides local people with opportunities to sing, dance, act and entertain the local community.
