A Stawell contingent performed well in the 2015 ITF Taekwon-do Australia National Championships in Melbourne.

The tournament was hosted Il-Shim International Taekwon-do Melbourne with a committed attendance of disciplined competitors ready for a great competition.
Events contested on the day were patterns, sparring, power breaking and special technique.
Vice president Paul Harper acknowledged all the people behind the scenes and everyone who supported the event, with a special mention thanking the competitors from the Stawell club for travelling down to attend.
The Stawell competitors were Bradley Carter, Justin and Jack Sirre and their instructor Corinne Leahy.
All competitors brought home trophies which is a brilliant result for the Stawell club. Leading the way with outstanding results and the Overall Senior Women’s Champion was instructor Corinne Leahy with two first places in Special Kicking Techniques and Sparring and a third placing in patterns.
Bradley Carter achieved a first place in Power Punch and a second in Special Kicking Techniques with Jack Sirre doing an amazing job achieving a second place in Patterns at his very first competition and his brother Justin also winning a second place in Power Punch, his first time competing also.
The Stawell IL Shim TKD Club meets at 6.30pm every Tuesday and Thursday night at the Stawell Primary School Gymnasium. New members welcome to have a try.
