Meander the market stalls amid the pretty bush setting of Pomonal Primary School, the temporary home of the market while the Pomonal Hall is being refurbished.
Within the school grounds lots of natives are in bloom and, if you look carefully just outside the grounds, you can spot native orchids such as nodding greenhoods, which only appear at this time of year.
Seasonal stall offerings will include fresh produce, fresh-cut flowers, plants and seeds, and there’ll be healthy treats for pets, second hand books, handcrafted jewellery and lots more. Records, compact discs, statues and bric-a-brac are just some of the other items that will be available.
Market regulars Anna and David from Wildes Lane Farm will be back with eggs from their heritage hens, Pink Lake salt, Burrum lentils, “luscious” sparkling juices, spelt liquorice, organic honey and biodynamic rice, apples and potatoes.
If you are hungry while wandering through the many stalls art the market, then there is plenty of catering.
Eat in or takeaway more yummy goods from the market cafe inside the original school building, now the art room. The homemade sausage rolls, quiches, scones, biscuits and slices, along with tea and coffee, are always popular.
Market hours are 10am-2pm. Stay updated with market news at the new Facebook page, Pomonal Community Connections.
