Each month, around six residents are taking part in the art classes, which are being directed by Grampians Studio and Gallery artists Annette May, Beverly Grace, Lyn Martin, Judith Burke and Ingrid Rudolph.
So far, residents have been using acrylics used as water colours and have been painting subjects like landscapes and flora.
Leisure and Lifestyle Program Coordinator Grace Rethus said the art classes were a fantastic addition to the diverse suite of activities program at Eventide Homes.
"The residents are reaping many benefits from being part of this new initiative. Some are there to expand their social circle, while others are interested in exploring their creativity.”
