Stawell has been in good form despite not winning games and will be disappointed with anything but a win come the final siren.
Coach Brad Thomas described the game as a must win for his group and thinks they have the fire power and ability to get the job done.
“It is in my mind a game we have to win,” Thomas said.
“We are situated close to them, we got close last time we met and if we lose there are no excuses.”
Stawell and Dimboola have players capable of winning a game off their own boot, but if the Warroirs are unable to put up a four-quarter team effort, any individual efforts will be nullified.
The Warriors players have been working on their fitness and sustaining their intensity for longer at training and this weekend will be another big test.
Stawell will aim to rectify the problems the team faced in the second half last week.
One of the key performance indicators for the match will be the way Stawell uses the ball.
“We have struggled with our efficiency,” Thomas said.
“If teams didn’t score off our turnovers we would win more matches. It is pretty simple.”
The Warriors will have to pay close attention to Ash Clugston who has the ability to turn matches.
Scott Driscoll had the better of Clugston in the earlier round, but David Morris is the likely man for the job the second time round.
By playing Morris on Clugston it will give Driscoll more freedom.
Stawell will make two changes to their team with Angus Barham and Robbie Armstrong replacing Jack Walker and Kobey Stewart.
Dimboola is also expecting a tough match and will have to be mindful of the young midfield group that Stawell has.
“We don’t want to let them run on the outside,” Dimboola coach Stuart Farr said.
“They are pretty even through the middle so they are hard to match up. We will have a few players playing close attention to the likes of Eckel.”
Farr said the match will be won in the midfield and hoped his team could finish on top.
“The results show that Stawell are improving,” Farr said.
Injuries had resulted in Farr calling on several of his reserves players.
“We have a few guys under a bit of an injury cloud at the minute,” Farr said.
“It is a good opportunity for others to stand up.”
