- Blue Sky Commander has broken through for his first Australian win last week at Geelong. Since arriving at Kerryn Manning’s stable, the three-year-old has shown good form.
- Seven-year-old gelding Westernview Jack has won his second career race after 10 starts for trainer Philip Giles. Driver Kerryn Manning had plenty of work to do, going three wide in the straight to win. Westernview Jack recorded a slick 1.58.6 on the Ballarat track.
- Great Western trainer Michelle Wight had a good week, training two winners. Babalaas Jack won at Terang and Jackabeems won at Ballarat. Jackabeems has now had 23 starts with six wins and earned just on $30,000 in stakes.
