In the cold, overcast conditions there were just five riders who committed to the weekly challenge, with Prins the best of them.
Peter Mayo and Kevin Grellet got the race underway.
They were followed by Jordie Argall, Peter Wemyss and Prins, who were chasing 11 minutes.
The chasing riders had to work hard to catch the front markers and just one kilometre from home they caught sight of them.
The front markers held their own as all five riders participated in the final sprint towards the finish line.
In the finish it was Prins who finished first with Wemyss coming in second and Grellet and Mayo in third and fourth place.
The fastest time was awarded to Jordie Argall.
Racing will continue on Saturday, July 4 at Armstrong Circuit off the Western Highway.
