Swifts went into the game on the back foot with several injuries to their senior players.
Justin Thomas was a late withdrawal, adding more concerns for coach Paul Hanns ahead of the game and when Hanns himself left the ground injured prior to half time, the situation only got worse.
Hanns was victim of a fair hit that left him bruised and battered, and a bad corked thigh saw him take no further part.
While Swifts were disappointed with the final result and their inability to compete they showed class in defeat and fought to the finish.
"The best thing about the group is they don't give up," Hanns said.
"We were getting well beaten in all areas of the ground, but battled to the finish."
Swifts were outclassed by Laharum and the experience of Shannon Argall, Jason Przibilla and Rhys Bennent shone through.
"The older senior bodies just did what they wanted," Hanns said.
Rory Jones came back into the senior line up as the ruckman once Damon Folkes was needed in the backline and he didn't disappoint, while Jake Atkins, who was playing his first senior game for the season, was also impressive.
Swifts have injuries to key senior players and several reserves players which is hampering their results.
"We just don't have that depth at the minute," Hanns said.
"We can't make excuses though. Against the best in the competition, we just weren't good enough. They were a better team."
The dull day only got worse for Swifts as Jacob Davis and Damien Smith were added to the list of ongoing injuries.
Laharum remain undefeated after they won 34.17.221 to Swifts 3.1.19.
