Stawell started the day well with a big win in the under 13 competition.
Stawell put the first three goals on the board before Horsham got it down to their attacking third.
Horsham then matched the score, shooting the next three goals, but from there it was all Stawell.
The combination of Dakota Cosson at goal shooter and Eliza Marrow at goal attack proved too strong for Horsham.
Stawell never looked like being defeated winning 45-8.
Cosson was best on court taking home the Grampians Pharmacy award and Marrow was second best winning the Subway voucher.
It was a hard task for the first game of under 15 B grade with all players trying hard.
Best on went to Caitlyn Hendy who was a strong player in defence for Warriors and captain of the team Amy Stainsby also played well in defence. Stawell lost 5-45.
The under 15 Warriors struggled in their first hitout.
Maddie Barber worked hard through the midcourt earning her the Gold Reef Clothing award and Bonnie Mcllvride was solid in defence taking home the Subway voucher.
Defenders in the under 17s worked hard all game rebounding and intercepting, but were no match for the physical Horsham team.
Stawell were outplayed by Horsham as they ran out winners 5-37.
Jordan Austin was best on court for efforts in defence while Tash Reading won the Subway award.
C Grade provided Warriors with their second win for the day when they came from behind to defeat last year's premiers.
Defensive duo Christine Graveson and Chantal Thomas used their experience to deny Horsham any chance of an easy goal, while at the other end the youth of Emma Dwyer, Kearnie Warren and Grace Bibby shone through.
Thomas was a big part of their comeback in the final quarter, earning herself best on court honours and the Byron Family award while Warren claimed the George and Kids and Subway award.
Stawell pulled away to win 27-24.
It was a strong start to the season for the B grade team.
In a grand final replay from last year, Stawell used strong defensive pressure to run out convincing winners 38-26.
Laura Farrer stood tall in defence while Sarah Morris offered run at wing defence.
Unfortunately the A grade team was unable to follow the winning trend as they went down by a considerable margin.
Horsham were there to play from the first centre pass and as they piled on six quick goals Warriors looked to be in for a tough day.
Jemma Clarkson had to work hard in centre and led by example and Liza Cook made the most of any opportunities in goals, but as a team they needed to contest the ball more.
With a score of 30-81 Stawell will have plenty to work on before they meet Ararat Rats tomorrow.
