Residents have been showcasing their talents and making the poppies as part of the 5000 Poppies campaign.
The poppies stretched around the entire library and have now made their way to join thousands of others in a 'field' at Federation Square in Melbourne for tomorrow's Anzac Day centenary service.
The 5000 Poppies campaign was an ambitious nationwide grass roots community tribute of respect and remembrance to commemorate the Anzac centenary.
The aim was to 'plant' a massive field of handmade poppies in Federation Square as a stunning visual tribute to Australian servicemen and women, who for more than a century have served in wars, conflicts and peace keeping operations.
Stawell and district residents took up the opportunity to contribute to the striking display that lined the walls at the Stawell Library.
Contributors were asked to hand make one or more poppies. These were able to be crocheted, knitted, felted or sewn from any materials.
Any shade of red was able to be used in making the poppies for the campaign.
