This meant that students were given an opportunity to learn a little about the First World War and transfer what they had learnt into their artwork.
Halls Gap, Pomonal and Stawell Primary school each selected twelve of their best paintings and they are now on display at the gallery for two weekends including the Anzac Day weekend.
Committee members from the gallery then chose two winners from each school to receive prizes.
Cheryl Stacpool, a committee member from the Railway Gallery, visited each school to award prizes and to congratulate Kaylee and Keira from Halls Gap, Pomonal's winners Bella and Tayla and from Stawell Primary school, Daneka and Kiri.
