The association is concerned that the recently renovated Pioneer Walk, between the Main Street central business district and Woolworths, will never be reinstated with the pioneer murals that used to adorn the walls and tell the story of some of the history of Stawell and district.
With a major civic pride focus constantly advocated by the Northern Grampians Shire Council, the Stawell and District Residents Association is eager to see a resolution to this impasse.
Stawell and District Residents Association will be conducting its next general meeting tonight in the Stawell Entertainment Centre foyer. The meeting will commence at 7.30pm.
Another matter the association is eager to seek the opinion of residents on is the apparent shelving of the Retractable Weather Curtain installation in both grandstands at Central Park, after the project was initially confirmed by council in February.
With the council now in budget preparation mode and as economic conditions tighten locally within the region, throughout the state and around Australia in general, there has never been a more important time to have your say on how your tax and rate dollars are spent by relevant authorities.
Stawell and District Residents Association encourages all residents to have their say, whether through attending the association meetings or speaking with the Northern Grampians Shire Council directly.
