The three year old gelding was sent out a short priced favourite by punters at $2.70.
After two promising seconds at his first two starts, there were high hopes for Dante's Finale and those expectations were met.
Dante's Finale led for the entire race and while there was a late challenge from Darren Weir trained To Do, the win was never in doubt.
The margin between first and second was one and a half lengths and third placed Bren's Boy was a long way back.
Whitworth was happy to get a win on the board with his much anticipated three year old.
"He went really well," Whitworth said.
"I wasn't expecting him to do it as easily as he did, but it was a great ride from Jarrod (Fry)."
Fry was on board Dante's Finale for the first time, but the experienced rider handled the horse with ease.
"He is developing quite well," he said.
