Trained by Terry and Karina O'Sullivan, Bunchloch was coming off a three week break after winning the Murtoa Cup earlier this month.
Sent out a $10 chance, Bunchloch sat midfield for the most of the race, before being steered to the front by jockey Nikita Beriman with 500 metres to go.
Rounding he home turn, it was a race in three, as they had separated themselves from the rest of the field.
The five year old gelding took the lead as they turned for home and opened up what appeared to be a winning break.
He finished the race strongly to hold off Sudden Movement and Count Encosta to claim the cup victory.
Terry O'Sullivan had expected a tough race up against a strong field.
"He has been racing really well so we were optimistic going into the race," O'Sullivan said.
"We weren't confident he would win, but we were confident he would run well. It was a good race for him and we are really happy with it."
He also praised jockey Nikita Beriman for her ride.
"Nikita did an excellent job," O'Sullivan said.
"We had a good barrier draw and we didn't want to get too far back.
"The other horses had a chance to win it but Bunchloch was too good."
Beriman was on board Bunchloch when he claimed the Murtoa Cup and the pair have now formed a formidable partnership.
The race provided Bunchloch with a further $36,000 in stakes, adding to an already impressive $150,000.
O'Sullivan said Bunchloch would likely contest the $100,000 Kyneton Cup on November 5.
The race will be 200 metres less than the Hamilton Cup distance.
Making it a successful day for the stables at Hamilton was another victory with Happy As Hell.
Happy as Hell took out the Benchmark 70 Handicap over 1600 metres with apprentice jockey Luke Londregan in the saddle.
The four year old gelding ran without cover and finished strongly ahead of Ungrateful Ellen and Millie's Mann.
Happy as Hell will contest the $50,000 Horsham Cup over 1800 metres this afternoon.
