There were four classes on the day after the committee dropped one class due to a lack of interest.
Kennedy and Bowen took control of the standard six cylinder event which was the most popular event on the day.
With 19 drivers competing it was a well earned victory for both.
Rounding out the placegetters in the event was Mark Ansaldi.
Jock Clayton, who is the president of the Motor Sports Club and a racing enthusiast took out the modified six cylinder event ahead of Mark Ansaldi and Harry Merrett.
In the V8 Class it was Matt Ellis who led the way followed by Jamie Birthisel and Scott Kerr.
In the Elite Class there were minimal entrants and then two who failed to finish, leaving winner Andrew Chapple and second placed Chris Reinsma to be the only two on the podium.
The next burnout competition is expected to be early December following the success of this event.
In what surprised a lot of people the crowd received the alcohol free event well which added to the family atmosphere.
Adding to the success of the day was the fact that the sun was shining and everyone was in good spirits.
Stawell Motor Sports Club would like to thank their major sponsors which are Town Hall Hotel, Baker Automotive, Ricksteel Fabrications, Harris Automotive Ararat and Stawell Panel and Paint.
The club will hold a family day this Sunday at 131 Burrong Basin Road Black Ranges.
