Visiting Stawell last Thursday, Mr Ramsay said completion of the major infrastructure project is vital for the road corridor that links Stawell with Melbourne.
He said he and his political allies stand united alongside Northern Grampians Shire as it continues to advocate fiercely for funding.
"I know David (O'Brien), Louise (Staley) and I share that enthusiasm for funding to be able to continue the highway from Buangor to Stawell and beyond to South Australia," he said.
"We are unified in our strong support and keen advocacy for continuation of funding for this project."
Mr Ramsay said seeing finished parts of the newly constructed highway - as a result of the duplication from Ballarat towards Beaufort, filled him with promise.
"It was a pleasure to see the works on the Western Highway continuing at a frantic pace," he said.
"I notice the trees coming down and the graders working at full speed.
"To actually be able to see and to visualise that being potentially all the way to the South Australian border will be fantastic for towns like Stawell. You will really reap the benefits."
Northern Grampians Shire Mayor, Cr Kevin Erwin has vowed to continue his fight for funds.
Cr Erwin has previously said he is still realistically hopeful that the duplication could reach Stawell by the year 2020.
