UP TO two thousand model train enthusiasts are expected to converge on Stawell this weekend for the Grampians Model Railroaders sixteenth annual model railway exhibition.
The two day (July 12 and 13) event includes more than 20 layouts from across Victoria and interstate, ten trade stands, a modelling competition, free parking, large secondhand trader and model vehicle display.
Demonstrations of 3D prototyping will also return this year after their successful introduction in 2013.
The Grampians Model Railroaders have held a model train exhibition each year in July since 1999.
Covering more than 1000 square metres it is well worth a look with layouts from the very small to the very large.
You can also buy most things you will need for your very own layout at the exhibition.
Doors to the exhibition at the SES Hall in Sloane Street open from 9am until 5.30pm tomorrow and again from 9.30am until 4pm Sunday.
Admission to the event is $20 for families, $8 per adult and $4 a child.

The railroaders meet every Thursday night at 7.30pm in the old Powerhouse building, 42 Sloane Street, Stawell next to Cato Lake through the rear entrance.
Visitors are more than welcome to go along and see what they do.
