The market, as usual, will be operating between 10am and 2pm in the Pomonal Hall and surrounds.
If you haven't been before, why not come and see what delights await you at this small but steadily growing market where stallholders are friendly and helpful?
If you're a bookworm, there's a veritable feast of pre-loved books, as well as CDs, tapes and very collectable LPs. There's a superb collection of exquisite china, glassware, brass and silver items from around the world, as well as other interesting bric-a-brac and collectable items.
The keen gardener will be in ecstasy with the range of plants, bulbs and seeds (including heritage seeds) on offer. As well, there's regionally-grown fresh fruit and vegetables, tasty homemade nut loaves, scones, biscuits, slices and cakes, mini pizzas and sausage rolls, a variety of fudge, toffee, honey, salamis, German sausage, jams, pickles and sauces and so on.
Is your mouth watering yet? There will be morning and afternoon tea and lunch available in the hall and you can sit by the fire to enjoy the modestly priced tucker, including hot soup.
That's not all. If you want fashion accessories such as floaty silk scarves, shawls and belts, as well as purses, wallets and handbags and a mind-boggling array of costume jewellery to suit all tastes, there's a number of stalls to choose from.
Then there are many pre-loved and new clothes, books and toys for children, naturally perfumed soaps, pot pourri, greeting cards, local handspun knitting yarn, beanies, berets, shawls and stoles, lucky dips and beautiful charcoal artwork. The list is endless and breath-taking.
Phillip Vaughan, an ex-local plantsman who is returning to live in Pomonal, has a glorious array of native plants for sale. These include grevilleas, kangaroo paw, banksias, hakeas and lots of other varieties and excitingly, bush foods which are starting to feature in restaurant menus around Australia.
Phillip has finger limes, Davidson's plum, mountain peppers, lemon myrtle and much more - too numerous to mention. With 30 years experience, he's the man to give you the right advice and encouragement, so come and see him - and the rest of us at Pomonal Market.
Please take note that the fund-raising sausage sizzle will not be held on this occasion, but certainly will return for June market.
