Key project team members and specialists will be at the information day at the Stawell RSL to provide information and answer questions about the project itself and about the Environment Effects Statement that is on public exhibition until Tuesday, May 13.
The information day will run from 11am to 2pm at the RSL.
Residents will have the opportunity to learn about the Big Hill Enhanced Development Project, which is a proposed five year open-cut mining operation at Big Hill.
As part of the process, Stawell Gold Mines was required to produce an EES to address all issues surrounding the plan including the environment, health, transport, heritage, noise, dust, reinstatement and rehabilitation of the site and social impacts.
Stawell Gold Mines General Manager Troy Cole urged anyone who supported the project or with questions about the Big Hill Project to attend the information day to receive the facts from the qualified team behind the project.
"We will do our best to answer all lingering questions at the information day," Mr Cole said.
"Questions might be about the short or long term impacts of the project, the open-cut mining process, what's going to happen to Big Hill when mining ceases, the environment or health.
"Our team can help resolve any questions or clear up any misinformation, so the information day is the place to come."
Mr Cole said it was important for people to have their questions answered now as submissions regarding the EES needed to be with the Government by 5pm on Tuesday, May 13, 2014.
"We encourage all residents - those who support the project or those that have questions or issues - to present a submission," he said.
