STAWELL - Craig Allan and Leighton Dunn combined to secure the summer championship title at the Stawell Golf Club on Saturday.

Allan, playing off a handicap of 22 and Dunn, playing off just three, kept their rivals at bay in the Deep Core Drilling sponsored event to take top honours with a combined score of 80 points.
It was a tight tussle behind the winners, with two combinations sharing runner up honours. The combinations of Frank Kuypers and Daryl Clayton, together with the pair of Jason OHayon and Michael Ross, finished with scores of 78.
In the ladies the sole winner of the day was Judy Clayton.
Clayton fired a 37 point round to defeat her rival Lyn Willcock who had a score of 36.
Nearest the pin awards went to Bob Wynd on Deep Core Drilling sixth hole and Ken Reid on the Money hole ninth.
On the Hi Way 8 Motel 13th it was Darren Jenkinson who took the honours, while Jeff Cameron mastered the David Hunter Landscape Gardening 17th hole.
Second shot winner on the Stawell Hydraulics third hole was Darren McDowell and Phil Matthews was victorious on the 18th hole with his second shot.
This year's summer championship saw a total of 62 players participate.
Last week's A grade chicken run was won by Brian Iseppi on 21 points with Joanne Orr following behind on 19 points.
In the B grade Daryl Clayton held off James Freebairn in a countback when they both finished on 20 points.
Upcoming events include the monthly medal tomorrow, sponsored by Orr and Willcock Henderson Steel and a Par Three Cross Country three person any combination to be held on Monday, January 27.
Tomorrow's registration time is from 11.30am to 12.15pm.
