A 200 plus run chase against the highly fancied Tatyoon, was going to be a huge challenge for Buangor, but in the end they handled this challenge with ease and now find themselves sitting up near to the top of the ladder.
Chasing a score of 221 runs for victory, Buangor resumed at 1/26 on Saturday and immediately set about giving the chase their best shot.
The not out batsmen Shaun Allen (20) and Chris Jerram (0) quickly settled in before Allen was caught behind off the bowling of Jarrod Blandford for 46.
Jerram was then joined by Harry Ganley and the runs continued to flow. Jerram topped the scoreline with his 58 runs, while Ganley added support with 41 runs and then Martin Jarrett finished the job for Buangor with his 53 runs.
It was a big effort from Buangor with a score of 6/228, to take first innings points.
Youth Club has moved off the bottom of the ladder with a win over Pomonal.
Pomonal set Youth Club a target of 103 runs for victory and when they took the wickets of Angus Barham (1) and Matt Delzotto (34) had Youth Club struggling at 5/56 after resuming at 3/35.
Jamie Solyom then stepped to the crease and suddenly the game changed. With a hard hitting 41 runs, which included four fours and a big six, Solyom set up the Youth Club win.
With the score at 98 Solyom finally holed out, but not before Youth Club had the game in their keeping.
Captain Steve LeGassick (18) saw the score safely in Youth Club's favour before he declared the innings closed at 8/127.
Luke Oliver 3/19 and Lachie Green 2/24 were the best of the Pomonal bowlers.
Pomonal finished at 4/106 in its second innings.
Aradale failed in its bid to chase down the Swifts/Great Western first innings score of 176 runs.
Resuming at 1/17, Aradale with Mitchell Wood (24) and Brent Tate (33) in the runs, at times looked to be handling the situation.
However, the Combine bowlers were able to take wickets at vital times and this kept Swifts/Great Western in control.
With a steady flow of wickets towards the end of the innings Aradale were finally dismissed for a score of 129.
Jacob Seeary 3/34 from his 17.4 overs and Gary Ranton 2/22 were the best of the Combine bowlers.
Navarre B grade veteran spinner John Costello had a day out in the clash against Willaura taking 5/33 and 7/26 in Navarre's outright win.
