Carmel Loats and her husband Cliff discovered a large amount of used furniture, including a kitchen suite, lounge suite, mattresses and a dresser, dumped at Repper’s.
“We live nearby and we walk every morning. We discovered it Sunday morning and reported it to the police,” Mrs Loats said.
“I’m not sure who’s responsibility it is to clean it up, maybe Grampians Wimmera Mallee Water, but it was still there on Monday.”
Mrs Loats said it was disappointing to see people illegally dumping rubbish at the lake, which locals work hard to keep clean.
“We just don’t want it done. It was a heap of old furniture, but it wasn’t in bad condition. I suppose someone just didn’t want to go to the tip.”
Anyone with information on the dumped items should contact Stawell Police on 5358 8222.
