Organisers say the students have caught on quickly, learning a variety of dances for the ball.

Organisers say the event follows the traditional debutante ball format, with formal dress and choreographed dances, although the music and style of dancing have evolved over time.

Organiser Katrina Repper said this year’s ball had come together on a tight schedule, with students completing six weeks of training.

“Students are excited to learn the traditional dances and have the opportunity to dress up in white dresses and black suits,” Mrs Repper said.

The group has spent recent weeks practising the dances they will perform in front of family and friends.

The presentation ball has long been a feature of the school calendar and remains a milestone for participating students.

Some students have also organised a limousine so they can arrive in style.

Mrs Repper, who has taken on a leading role in organising the ball while her daughter participates, said the school community was looking forward to seeing what the students had learned.

Families and friends are expected to attend to watch the formal presentation and celebrate the evening with the students.
