Adam Matthews appeared in the Stawell Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, November 23, where he pleaded guilty to giving false information about a driver's licence.
On July 16, police observed Matthews travelling east on the Western Highway near Great Western at 3.36pm.
Matthews was asked to produce a driver's licence.

Matthews said he didn't have his licence with him and provided police with the name of Shaun Matthews and an address in Glenfyne.
Police conducted further checks and noticed that the licence photos did not match with that of the accused.
Matthews was issued with a caution and asked for his identity again.
Matthews provided his name and adequate documentation to prove it.
Further police checks found Matthews' licence was suspended from January 20 until July 19, 2021, due to demerit points.
Magistrate Tim Walsh warned the offender that further offending of this nature would result in prison time.

"In relation to these charges, there is a couple of lessons here," Magistrate Walsh said.
"The days of giving your mates name and address and date of birth are gone because police have a database in their car.
"Driving while suspended, if you were to do it again, you are at risk of imprisonment.
"On this occasion, given your lack of history, without conviction, you'll be fined.
Magistrate Walsh fined Matthews $400.
