The Halls Gap General Store has joined the Post Office in re-opening, after staff COVID-19 tests all came back negative.

"This is great news for all," a spokesperson for the store said on social media.

"We will be open until 8pm today to ensure enough time for everyone to get in and get all the essentials you need.

"Trading hours to be confirmed from tomorrow onwards, depending on test results, but we expect to trade normal hours

"Thank you for everyone's patience and understanding during this difficulty time."

COVID-19 testing is available in Stawell via Stawell Regional Health at the Stawell Tennis Club between 10am and 2pm; with no appointment necessary.

This drive-through service will operate until further notice from 10am to 2pm daily.

Earlier: Halls Gap Post Office will reopen from 1pm on Friday, as staff at businesses across Halls Gap await COVID-19 test results.

"We've done a bit of work in the background and figured out a way to get the shop open for tomorrow," a spokesman for the Post Office said on social media on Thursday night, noting that just one staff member was available.

"Between needing to clean everything as well as the backlog of mail and parcels we won't be opening to the public for collection until 1 pm."

The Post Office thanked the community for their patience in waiting for mail and other services the Post Office provides.

"Pending all our team getting negative test results back at some point tomorrow, we may even be open over the weekend and allow for collection to say thanks," they said.

Meanwhile, Halls Gap General Store said they also hoping to open on Friday.

"We are ready to open once we get those results, which we hope is later today," they said.

"We do apologize for the inconvenience, but out of an abundance of caution felt that this is the best and safest route to take for our team and the community."

"Thank you for the messages of support, we appreciate your patience."

No new Tier 1 exposure sites were added on Thursday night, however Stawell Regional Health noted there can be a delay in exposure sites appearing on the Department of Health exposure site webpage.

To keep the community informed, Grampians Public Health Unit are publishing confirmed exposure sites, which require action by the community, on the Ballarat Health Services Facebook page.

Northern Grampians Shire Council and Grampians Tourism have also closed the Halls Gap Hub Visitor Information Centre as a precaution as the Paper Scissors Rock Brew Co and information centre use the same toilets.

It is not considered to be a Tier One site.
