An SES spokesperson said the emergency service had only received one call for assistance in the Wimmera, from Stawell, in the aftermath of this morning's earthquake.
The spokesperson also said the SES was expecting possible aftershocks for weeks, if not months, following the initial tremor.
"Aftershocks can continue for some time after the main earthquake. We are urging all Victorians to stay safe and use common sense," the spokesperson said.
Three smaller aftershocks have been reported in the Mansfield area since 9.15am this morning.
EARLIER, 9.30am:
A TREMOR has been felt across Victoria this morning.
At about 9.15am a magnitude 6.0 earthquake occurred, with the epicentre near Mansfield, about 10km underground.
Reports indicate the tremour was felt as far north as Canberra, and as far south as Melbourne.
It's understood the tremors came from 100km east of Melbourne.
It is not known if anybody has been injured yet.
There are reports of building damage in Melbourne.
In January, Glenorchy was hit with the largest on-shore earthquake recorded in Victoria for more than eight years, at 3.5 magnitude.
More to come.
