An absolute thriller was played out between Monagahan's Real Estate and Carey Covers, with the former getting over the line by a solitary point.
In a game of ebbs and flows, Monaghan's Real Estate jumped out of the blocks to take a six point half-time lead on the back of some crafty offensive play from Jack Reading.

However, immediately after the half-time interval, Carey Covers went on a run of their own to take an eight-point lead midway through the final stanza.
Jedd Hurley and Brady Graveson were integral pieces of the Carey Covers run, doing a lot of damage under the basket, before John Jok settled his Monaghan's Real Estate side, and in a barnstorming up and down finish, they held on 36-35.
It was great to see Adi Obi back on court, following a lengthy stint on the sidelines through injury, while Bailey Cowen provided the individual highlight of the night, knocking down a shot over his head from the foul line, whilst facing the opposition ring, it had to be seen to be believed.
OTHER NEWS:
Mellor Monumental methodically dismantled Brian Thomas Electrical in a 67-16 romp, which sent shockwaves through the competition, and reaffirmed their standing as the team to beat in the premiership race.
Mellor Monumental's Owen Summers, full of confidence after having played in a senior men's premiership two weeks ago, finished well at the rim, having a night out on his way to a competition season-high 39 points.
He also had a strong supporting cast, which was too much for Brian Thomas Electricals' Jack Clementson, and Hunter and Nate Thomas to handle on the defensive end.
Brian Thomas Electrical will now lock horns with Monaghan's Real Estate, as both teams battle for fourth spot on the ladder, while Mellor Monumental will cool their heels next week with a bye, but know full well that the job is only half done.
Round 10 Ladder
- Mellor Monumental 20pts
- Middys Electrical 18pts
- Carey Covers 15pts
- Monaghans Real Estate 14pts
- Brian Thomas Electrical 13pts
