The Eagles held a five-point lead after the first quarter, before the Warriors bounced back in the second to hold a lead of four at half time.
The Eagles trailed by five at the final change, before a late shooting surge left them just short of stealing the win.
Warriors coach Courtney McIlvride was thrilled by the win against an opponent which was ranked one-place higher than them.
"It was a really, really good game of netball from both teams," McIlvride said.
"Commiserations to Warrack they played a great game as well.
McIlvride pinpointed her teams effort and rotations as things that were key to the win.
"I think we just had the intensity the whole four quarters," she said.
"Being able to have some legs when people needed to have that bit of a break. You could go really hard for 15-minutes and know there's someone else to come in.
"I just think we wanted it today. We just chased down every ball and we just really wanted the win.
"I'm just really proud of all the girl's efforts."
Zanaiya Bergen led by example with 31 goals for the Warriors, while Molly Stewart followed suit for the Eagles with 32 goals.
For the Warriors Lisa Fleming was a standout, while for the Eagles Kiani Stewart shone.
At home Dimboola proved too good for Nhill running away with a 24-point win.
The Tigers started off strong only trailing by five goals at quarter-time however by half-time the Roos raced away to a 13-point lead.
Nicole Polycarpou was lethal under the net with 35-goals for the Roos, while Claudia Mcrae led with 14 goals for the Tigers.
Emily Polack continues to be a force for the Roos being named their best, while Jenna Schneider stood out for Nhill.
At City Oval the Horsham Demons again benefitted from the shooting of superstar Emma Buwalda in their 28-point win over Ararat.
Buwalda scored a mammoth 52 goals, while Jedda Heard was named the Demon's best, as well as Georgia Hiscock who was playing in her 100th game.
Delaney McLoughlan had 26 goals for Ararat, with Brooke Currie named their best.
The win solidifies the Demons' hold in second spot and ensures the Giants don't get too far ahead of them.
At Murtoa the unbeaten Giants did their reputation no harm with a 21-point win over Minyip-Murtoa.
The Burras battled hard all game but in the end the Giants again showed the competition why they're the premiership favourites.
Zali Brown racked up 33 goals for the Giants, while Burra Georgia McClennan shot well for 16 of her own.
Steph Thomson was named the Burras' best while, Meg Cashin played well for the home team.
