It is not known yet whether junior sport will go ahead in the WFNL and HDFNL competitions, with the WFNL board meeting on Wednesday night and the HDFNL board meeting on Thursday night to discuss the matter.
Acting Victorian Premier James Merlino announced the proposed changes on Wednesday afternoon after there was no community transmission in regional Victoria this week.
Under the changes senior sporting teams would be able to train but not play.
The Stawell Times-News spoke to AFL Wimmera-Mallee manager Jason Muldoon on Wednesday night who was waiting to hear further clarifications surrounding the announcements.
"Under the guidelines released today junior sport can continue," he said.
In the protocols released by the Government it states that there is to be a maximum of 50 people per venue and group sizes to a maximum of ten people at outdoor physical recreation and sport.
Muldoon is hoping to have this interpreted in regards to junior sport.
OTHER NEWS:
"That makes it really hard and a place like City Oval is classed as one venue with the netball courts and football oval in the one venue so in reality you probably can't even have one parent per child," Muldoon said.
"If we go on last years protocols the players aren't included in that until they come off the ground, it does make it a little bit harder.
"Both the boards will have to make a decision on whether that's the direction they want to go."
Muldoon is also waiting on clarifications as to how senior sports training can continue in the correct manner.
More to come.
